Sixth conference on SMEs opened in Thailand Sixth conference on Small & Medium Sized Entrepreneurs opened in Thailand with attendance of twenty-four Islamic countries representatives and senior managers . In the conference, at first the Memorandum of understanding signed between ICRIC Executive Manager, Dr.Fakhari, and Thai Islamic Trade & Industry Association (TITIA) president. According to the MOU, ICRIC deputes TITIA to perform in the area of awarding certification and Halal Brand also researches in this field. Moreover, ICRIC accord that TITIA is representative in Thailand for two years and cooperates with ICRIC in areas related to Halal World. Full text

World Halal Brand in Dialogue with Turkey Director General Standardization for Foreign Trade Mr.Yavus Mollasalihoglu Director General Standardization for Foreign Trade that came to Iran with a board from Turkey Development and Commerce Organization, asked for visiting the responsible of the World Halal Brand Secretariat. He was the Director of the Session on the last Conference in Comsek and mentioned, in that session assigned that researches do in the filed of Halal, but because this project was done by ICRIC and became practical there, we are asking for exchanging the experiments. Cooperation between Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & ICRIC In continuous of the policy of getting touch with the 57 Chambers of Commerce of Islamic Countries with ICRIC for pursuiting of its several projects in each country, the Executive Director of ICRIC visited with Mr. Rdi.V. Raseli in the fringe of the Halal Exhibition in Jakarta. Dr. Fakhari in his meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce discussed the way of communicating of Indonesia Chamber of Commerce with ICRIC. Mr. Rseli, while was expressing his pleasure about this subject, mentioned his readiness for any kind of cooperation and correlation and stated that he will pursue and consider ICRIC'S programs such as: MECCAward, Halal products & and Islamic World Trade Directory. Meeting and debating of the Executive Director of ICRIC with the deputy of the Ulamaa Council of Indonesia about World Halal Brand During successful meeting with vice-chairman of Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Mines, Dr. Fakhari explained ICRIC's objectives and emphasized upon the necessity of assigning a liaison representative with the activities of ICRIC. The Indonesia vice-chairman of Chamber of Commerce was selected as the liaison. Also Mr. Omid Al-Ulamau (From Ulamaa Council of Indonesia and responsible for issuing Halal Certificate for all Indonesia centers), in his Meeting with the Executive Director of ICRIC, became familiar with World Halal Brand and declared to be ready to sign a MOU in the filed of cooperation and more correlation with this center. Halal World Brand in the Trade Session of the Developing Eight Countries (D-8) In Malaysia The 10th Trade Session of (D-8) was opened on Thursday 3rd July 2008 in the 6th floor of the Hilton Hotel in Kualampour while the host country concentrated all its efforts to relive the Malaysia's role in the Halal Brand subject. In this session the representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and ICRIC who were presented in Halal Commission Working Group suggested that a World Halal Brand is necessary to be chosen which will be acceptable and common for all 57 Islamic Countries and also among the Halal Organizations of different countries aiming to bring cooperation and correlation among them. This proposal was confirmed and accepted fully by the Halal Brand Commission Members and was determined to put it in the final declaration of the summit. China International Halal Exhibition's Invitation An invitation letter was handed over to the Executive Director of ICRIC by the representative of China Embassy in Tehran to attend the China International Halal Exhibition that will be held between 10-13th September 2008. This Exhibition is the 3rd China International Halal Fair that will be held at the International Convention and Exhibition Center of Yinchuan by the Locals Government of Ningixa Hui Autonomous Province. The Meeting between the Chinese trade Delegation and the Halal World brand Secretariat of ICRIC A session was held between a trade delegation of the Yinchuan Province of China and the authorities of the Halal World Brand secretariat. In this session they discussed about certificate and Halal Brand of the Islamic Chamber Research and Information Center (ICRIC) of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). A memorandum of understanding will be signed in near future between two centers that will bring more cooperation fields between ICRIC and Islamic Assembly of the Yinchuan Province. In the session the Chinese Delegation officially invited the head of the Halal World Brand Secretariat to attend to the 2nd China International Halal Fair that will be held on August 21till 24 September 2008. The Deputy of the Ministry of Commerce of Brazil acquainted with Halal World Brand The Deputy of the Ministry of Commerce of Brazil and THE Head of the Trade Section of Embassy of Brazil in Tehran, Mr. Filip Florse Pinto, in their meeting with the Director of the Halal World Brand Secretariat expressed their satisfaction of being familiar with the Certificate of World Halal Brand of ICRIC which is acceptable in all Islamic countries. He declared that the most meat exportation in the world is being done by Brazil. He added that Brazilian Meat Exporters are determined to observe the Halal food product conditions of the Halal World Brand of ICRIC. Full text

The Presence of the Director of the Secretariat of the HalalWorld in the Annual Malaysian MIHAS Exhibition Malaysian Halal MIHAS Exhibition that have already been organized for the experts and the relevant companies was open for the public on the last two days on Saturday and Sunday days. The Director of the secretariat of the HalalWorld (From ICRIC) , Dr.H.Fakhari introduced the goals of HalalWorld in his meetings with the director and the members of the Executive Committee of the Halal Council from Australia, Japan, America, Thailand, Newsland, England, China, Philippine and South Africa and he distributed the booklet of the center on Halal Subject and he invited this committee for more coordination and they also invited the Director of the ICRIC and the Director of the Halal Secretariat for their coming session , that will be held on November of this year in Thiland. Halal Exhibition and Forum in Malaysia The Fifth International Malaysian Halal Food Exhibition was celebrated on 7th till 11th may -2008, in Koulalampor by MIHAS and support of Matrid Exhibitional Center. Tens of Food Production, Pharmaceutical and, Service Companies from Malaysia, and some Companies from, Iran, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, Canada, America, Pakistan, Brunei, Kuwait and etc, were presented their Products and Services. In the official opening ceremony, The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Abdolah Badavi, declared about the annual thousand milliard dollar business of Halal Food in the world and mentioned the Malaysia serious duty, and intention in this Bazar. Excellent presence of the experts (in the beginning and the Public on the last two days) thoroughly kept exhibitors actively, who partly entertained the visitors with their products. What’s the News from Mihas Malaysia Exhibition? The Fifth Malaysian International Halal Product Exhibition was celebrated on 7th till 11th May-2008 in Koalalampoor at Mihas Exhibition Center. In this exhibition , different companies in the filed of :banking ,food product , medicinal or ( pharmaceutical) , hygienic, cosmetic and herbal products were present.; Among participants , some companies were from Islamic Republic of Iran which have Halal Certificate of ICRIC center( depending on (OIC) organization of Islamic Conference). Nahavandian hails ICC's General Assembly Head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines on Sunday hailed the success of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce's (ICC) General Assembly held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mohammad Nahavandian, who was in Saudi Arabia said that the assembly was held to review the international project on Halal brand aiming at standardization of Halal products. Full text

Further Emphasis on celebrating Halal International conference Dr.Nahavandian in visiting with the Director of the Islamic Development Bank , Dr.Ahmad Mohammad Ali,(IDB) in Jaddah, was emphasized again on the importance of holding Halal International Congress in Tehran. The Head of ICRIC participating to ICCI’s General Assembly meeting in Jeddah Dr. Nahavandian has left Tehran to attend to the General Assembly of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) in Jeddah. The “first ceremony of awarding Halal certification”to the food and medical producers. In a meeting which were held in ICCIM in January 2008 in Tehran with the presence of IDB Officials and with participation of high official from Islamic Republic of Iran i.e. the Ministry of Economy and Finance, H.E. Dr. Jaafari, ICRIC Director General and Head of ICCIM, Mohammad Nahavandian, expressed that allocation of Halal Brand will help decrease the cost of goods exchanges and increase the speed of exchanging goods and services.
